Wherefore Art Thou Rufio?

Dante Basco, aka Ruuuuuufiiiiiiioooooo from the classic film "HOOK" came into our lives with a red and black tri hawk, a sweet sword, a wind skateboard and the ability to crow like an effing champ...and then he vanished, off into the friscalating dusk light from which he came. Last night I went searching for this long lost childhood make believe character to see just what it is he has been doing since "HOOK" dropped in 1991.

The answer my friends is...not shit. It seems our boy Rufio has spent a career being type casted as an Asian American, making ends meet in a film industry that no longer appreciates the talent we all viewed in "HOOK". Here is a run down of his character names, just to give you some idea.

Fukijama- a role he played in Entourage as the highly coveted designer of limited edition footwear....

the rest of these are priceless

Ping Pong- Booker P.I.
Fukushima- Kim Possible
Quoc Wong- Proud Family
Noodles- Chronicles
Rishi Lama- Viper
Jimmy Chang- Nash Bridges
The Wonder Years- Eddie/gym class kid

He has recently done a lot of voice work for cartoons such as Avatar the Airbender...I'm sure many of you ask what this is and I only have loose understanding from my days as an assistant Kindergarten Teacher...basically, its like Magic, PokeMon and Dragon Ballz on kiddie crack.
